Do you hear the children crying because they found their mom with a vein in their arms? Do you hear the gun shots firing, hitting the innocent teenage boy that just left the school? Do you see the young ladies being picked up to provide a service that demeans them? Did your significant other pack their stuff and just walk out on you? Did your bank account just go into the negative? Did your boss just fire you? Is your mind going crazy with thoughts that just won’t stop? Did the doctor just give you a report that makes you want to throw in the towel? This my friends is the reality of spiritual warfare. That place is where you have a choice to keep your faith or just get knocked out in the middle of the boxing ring.
Many of us are going through tough times but we keep it to ourselves. If you want to get beat, keep trying to do this alone. When I watch a boxer I see many of his folks surrounding him. Rooting him on, helping him heal his wounds, I see the coach on the sides shouting out techniques so he doesn’t get beat by his enemy. I have never seen a boxer go into the ring alone, it would be a very sad situation if it happened to go down that way.
This walk with Christ is not meant to be an independent road. So many think they can do this all alone. They get beat time and time again. Thinking they can do it again is just foolishness. God calls us to do this with a team that can unite and train together so our strength will make us undefeated in this journey called life. Friends, coaches, those who disciple us and spiritual parents are needed in our lives to be able to be victorious. These giants in our lives can be slain with these folks. As my Pastor just shared, Jesus was perfect but he still had his team. I desire for all of us to be able to contend and recognize the need for a strong core support group so we can be victorious in these spiritual battles.
How are you building up relationships that can root you on, walk you through and cover you in your journey?
